Let's Face It! Solid geometric solids can be confusing to young children, especially when trying to identify how many faces and vertices each one has. Help them out with this hands-on activity that will 'solid'-ify those concepts for your students! Children handle each solid shape you provide, then count and record the number of faces and vertices. Because each child chooses a random shape, you'll always have enough solids for everyone to complete this activity at the same time, whether in a center, small group or whole class.
Created by Terry Palmieri, this is a kid-tested activity that has been used in first and second grade classrooms.
