Pg. 3 Space Spelling! – Unscramble your spelling words on the spaceships and match the alien with the correct word by cutting and gluing them to each spaceship
Pg. 4 Blast Off! – roll the dice to see how many times to write your spelling word – see which word makes it to the moon first
Pg. 5 Suffixes –ful and -y – add the suffixes to each base word to create new words
Pg. 6 My Moon Questions – make a pocket, think of four questions you have about the moon and write them on the strips – put the strips in the moon pocket and go ask people in your classroom your questions – do they know the answers?

Pg. 8-10 Main Idea and Details – cut out the rocket, color and glue it onto a paper bag, cut out the astronauts, write and glue the main idea to the bag, write the four details on each astronaut and place them in the spaceship
Pg. 11-13 Let’s Make a Word – cut out the moon and the paper strip, cut on the dotted lines to form two openings, insert the paper strip up and down through the two openings, move the strip to form new words, cut out and fold the accordion book, write the new words in your book, write new words for each different ending
Pg. 14 My Moon Report – let’s write information about the moon- draw or attach a picture of the moon, draw the phases of the moon and add your own interesting facts
Pg. 15-23 Blast Off1 – craft and writing activity! – write about what it would be like to be an astronaut going to the moon, cut out the pattern pieces, fold the arms and legs accordion style, glue together, add a face with crayons or construction paper
Pg. 24-30 Blast Off! – a game to help you practice your High-Frequency Words – put the game cards in a pile face down, every player gets a spaceship, take turns reading the cards and placing the astronaut cards in your spaceship, if you choose a word you already have in your spaceship, place it back in the pile and lose your turn, the first person who fills up their spaceship wins!
