This smartboard lesson is an introduction to the verb tenses - past, present, and future. The lesson begins with a quick review of what a verb is. In this section of the lesson there are pages of the smartboard lesson with sentences. Students will find and circle the verb in the sentence. This section of the lesson also has a link to a song about verbs. The lesson then moves on to an introduction to the tenses. After a brief description of each tense there are sentences that can be changed to a specific tense by dragging either an "ed", "ing", or the word "will" to the sentence to make the sentence make sense in the given tense. The lesson then gives a verb that can be changed to each tense and could be put into sentences. Later three sentences are given on a few of the pages and students will need to sort the sentences according to the tense they are written in. At the end of the lesson there are two activities included that can be opened and printed from the attachments tab. The first activity included has 3 posters (one for each tense) that can be placed around the room. Each student will then get a sentence and will need to decide which tense their sentence was written in. They will then move to the poster of the tense they belong with. The last activity is also a file that can be printed. On this activity students will get a sheet that has a verb at the top of it. Students will then write the verb in a sentence in each tense. In this lesson there is also a link to a game that could be played on the internet.
