Product Description
Thank you for considering the “Let’s Map: A Bird” file. I have found this to be an excellent way for students to learn the different parts of a bird.

When students map a bird, they assign colors and/or patterns to each section they need to identify. They fill in the key and the part of the picture that that section represents. In the example, the student chose pink with purple stripes for the back and then colored the back using that pattern and color combination.

This file includes two types of bird identification pictures:
The first picture contains the parts listed.
The second picture allows you to pick which parts you want color coded.

You can have your students use solid colors to differentiate between the parts or you can let them run wild and choose patterns and designs. Either way, this activity is great for referencing what they’ve learned. It also works well as classroom and hallway bulletin board displays.

If you have any questions or suggestions concerning this activity, please email me at ahousecalledhome@gmail.com.

Thank you,
Jennie
