Mapping an atom is a great way to help students recognize the different parts of an atom (protons, neutrons, electrons, nucleus and electron shells).
This product includes two atoms, an oxygen atom and a chlorine atom.
Each type of atom has two mapping activities (4 activities total).
1. In the first version, the students color code an atom using a key
2. In the second version, the students label the atom using arrows and determines the number of protons, neutrons and electrons in the atom
The second version makes an excellent quiz after the students complete the first version in class.
Answer keys are provided.
