I have found mapping activities to be an excellent way for students to learn the layers of the Earth.
When students map the Earth, they assign colors and/or patterns to each layer or part they need to identify. They fill in the key and the corresponding layer or part.
This file includes four with four different versions. Please download the preview to see all pages associated with this product.
You can have your students use solid colors to differentiate between the parts or you can let them run wild and choose patterns and designs. Either way, this activity is great for referencing what they’ve learned. An excellent addition to your science interactive notebook! It also works well as a classroom and hallway bulletin board display.
