It's time to break out those measuring tools! This set of task cards was developed as a center activity for a 2nd grade class with varying ability levels. The cards range in activities as simple as counting how many dots long the key is to as difficult as asking students to use additional math strategies such as addition and subtraction for younger students, or multiplication and division for older students. In addition, many of the cards incorporate relatively accurate height ratios for familiar landmarks such as Lady Liberty and the Eifel Tower. These task cards may be used individually, but are better suited for a small group of three to five students. Use these cards as a follow-up activity to a lesson, as practice, as test review, and so much more! Your students will be engaged and every ability level will be challenged.
