This is a unit focusing on six famous Americans: George Washington, Susan B. Anthony, Helen Keller, Jackie Robinson, Martin Luther King Jr. and Abraham Lincoln.
This unit connects to the VAAP Standard HS-C4 (SOL 2.11): The student will identify George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Susan B. Anthony, Helen Keller, Jackie Robinson, and Martin Luther King, Jr., as Americans whose contributions improved the lives of other Americans.
In this unit you get TWO versions of the adapted book-a more simplified version that highlights the main contribution of the famous american and a book that goes more in-depth with each famous american.
You also get 2 file folder games: One that sorts pictures among the famous Americans and one that matches the famous american to their fact. You also get a set of comprehension task cards! I use all 3 activities as samples for the VAAP!
