Product Description
Want to Spice Up Your Math Centers with a Baseball Theme?

These 12 math centers were created for students to complete during math workshop. All twelve centers are aligned to the second grade Common Core Standards. Each game can be completed independently by students, and a recording sheet is included with every activity to hold students accountable for their work.
Four of the twelve centers are tiered so all students can be working on the same skill, at a different level of difficulty. Counting all the differentiated activities, this pack actually contains 19 different activities.

The following concepts are addressed in these games:
• National League Number Sense- Students draw a card and determine ten or hundred more or less of a given number. There are two versions of this game- ten more/ hundred more and ten less/ hundred less.
• Addition Athletes- Students draw a card and solve the two digit addition problem on the card. There are three versions of this game: addition without regrouping, addition with regrouping, and addition with and without regrouping.
• Sliding into Subtraction- Students draw a card and solve the two digit subtraction problem on the card. There are three versions of this game: subtraction without regrouping, subtraction with regrouping, and subtraction with and without regrouping.
• Ballpark Estimates- Students draw a card with a hundred chart and solve the problem using estimates. There are two versions of this game: estimating sums and differences (both within one hundred).
• Time to Play Ball- Students draw a card and read the analog clock. There are three versions of this game- to the hour, to the half-hour, to the nearest five minutes.
• Snack Time- Students draw a card and solve the money word problem to determine if they have enough money to buy the snack pictured on the card.
• Baseball Stats- Students draw a card and solve the word problem. The word problems are a mixture of addition and subtraction with and without regrouping within one hundred.
• “Bat”ty About Measurement- Students draw a card and measure the baseball bat to the nearest inch. There are two versions of this game- with a line cue to measure and without.
• Measuring the Field- Students measure a picture of the baseball diamond to the nearest centimeter and answer questions.
• MVP Multiplication- Students draw a card with an array and determine if the total is even or odd and write the matching addition and multiplication sentences.

All the centers are in black and white to save on printing costs. Color covers with directions for the games are included if you like that extra punch of color! I have printed all of my games on colored copier paper and laminated them to make them more durable. I have cut up all the games and stored them in Ziplock bags so I can lay them flat in a box for storage.
