Learning colors is a very important step in early childhood education, from being able to name each color, to matching like colors, to reading color words. In this activity pack, children will have the opportunity to practice these skills through scaffolded models of instruction, beginning with matching like colors, all the way to reading color words on their own.
Included you will find several layers of instruction that can all be played in “Go Fish” or memory fashion.
*Match zebras by making two sets of polka-dotted zebras and matching like colors, identifying color names as children find matches.
*Match zebras to their color word by printing a set of polka dotted zebras and their color word, which is printed in the actual color.
*For higher level practice, use the polka-dotted zebras to match to color words that are all written in non-color coded font.
