This is a collection of 45 easy to learn songs. The purpose of this collection is to have a resource that all students can use to learn to read music from any starting point (mostly aimed at grades K-8), no matter what situation they are in. It contains beginning melodies that can be played on Orff instruments (2 players per instrument for most songs!). There is no more than one new concept introduced per song. This ensures that no matter what age a student starts to learn music, they can and will find success!
These aren't your typical "Orff Arrangements." Songs are presented with just melody. But! - Almost all songs allow for two students to be at each instrument. One on the lower C to A, and one on the higher C to A. This is perfect for those larger classes or schools that cannot afford enough instruments for everyone.
A challenge we face as educators is entering a new district. Sometimes you get lucky, and the students can already read quite well. Sometimes, they don’t know the difference between a quarter note and a treble clef. This book has melodies the students recognize and reinforces music literacy within the music program.
This product is similar to a beginning band book, but the early pages are doable by some as young as Kindergarten and first grade. At the same time, if older students attempt the early pages, it isn't insulting to their talent level. They can play through those pages quickly, make sure all concepts are understood, and move on from there.
