"Let's Read" series is designed for the Music Learning Theory inspired classroom.
"Let's Read Rhythm" is a learning sequence designed to help students transfer their music listening, speaking, and thinking skill to written notation.
The rhythm sequence begins with reading two-measure patterns, and ends with reading and performing a 16-measure composition. Once students can chant these patterns, we transfer it to rhythm instruments, recorders (practicing on single pitches), or ukuleles (using as strum patterns).
Level TWO is a combination of DOTTED QUARTER notes, DOTTED QUARTER RESTS, and EIGHTH note TRIPLETS.
~Two-measure patterns (one & two per page)
~Four-measure patterns (one & two per page)
~16-measure composition (sequenced from listening to performing)
~Listening assessments: "What pattern do you hear?"
~Certificate of completion
