What a fun way to celebrate Thanksgiving time! Let’s talk turkey!!! It is a packet that starts as a “Write the Room”, but is also so much more! It is common core aligned and you will be covering multitude of ELA and Math standards, all while having some “turkey-time” fun!
In this packet you will find 3 different sets of write the room cards with fall/Thanksgiving vocabulary on them. You can find and use the one that best fits your needs. You may still find uses for the other sets, for word walls, vocabulary words, pocket chart activities. You will also find a “word bank” with the words. If you put those in page protectors and inside a folder (the version with the brads for holding hole punched pages), you have an “on the go” mini word wall for independent writing or another center!
You will find everything Thanksgiving/Fall/Turkey! I have included thinking maps (a great way to “brainstorm” for the writing process together!) about Thanksgiving. There are writing papers with and without prompts for you to use after brainstorming”. I have included a counting syllables pocket chart activity using the
words that are used in the “write the room” activity. Included is an “I Have Who Has” game. There are several “song books/pages” to sing silly songs with your students. I have included some “suggested youtube” videos for added fun and to use as possible “hooks” for lessons I have included a turkey ten frames pocket chart activity for teaching numbers one to ten. I have also included a survey to use as a discussion starter! I have also included 2 emergent readers (one on Thanksgiving things and one
counting Thanksgiving/Fall items). I have included worksheets that are color by number, color by sight word, and add then color. There are graphing and patterning worksheets. Each worksheet is designed to be very “hands on”/interactive with either a “cut and paste” or reading numbers, color words and sight words as well!
It is common core aligned and covers these standards:
SL.K.4 I can describe things and events.
SL.K.5 I can add drawings to add details.
