Introduce your students to drawing detailed pictures. Choose one of the pages to do together. Discuss how detailed pictures will have at least 5 different colors and at least 5 details. Brainstorm things that you can add to your picture. Talk about things that might be in the sky, on the ground, what other things might be found there, etc. Have your students color the 5 crayons at the top with the 5 colors that they use and then place an x in that box. Have them color in a star each time they add a detail. When they have colored in all 5 stars, then place an x in that box. Make sure you stress that they don’t need to stop when they have 5 details or 5 colors. They can add as many as they like!
