This set of texts, activities and ideas is a sample it-self, a part of a much richer bundle, named “Let’s read about wild animals” that will contain many different text passages, lots of handouts, worksheets and many more teaching ideas.
This package includes:
• two different original nonfiction text passages,
• reading comprehension strategies (you will find them in page 3, written in red letters),
• five worksheets with organizers and activities that enhance reading comprehension,
• plenty of teaching ideas to implement.
The first text, titled “The zebra”, is a bit easier to read and comprehend, as far as vocabulary and sentence complexity are concerned. Therefore, it may be used for Grades 2 and 3 or perhaps by students of upper elementary who struggle with reading difficulties. The text titled “Dearing zebras” can be used for teaching 4-graders and others. However, both texts can be read and compared in many ways. You can find ideas to compare and contrast text passages in the larger bundle named “Let’s read about wild animals”.
