Letter automaticity is so important! It is a closely linked to writing fluency, without letter automaticity your students will have a more difficult time completing their writing prompts in the future. Students who struggle with letter automaticity also are so frustrated with writing individual letters they can not concentrate fully on the writing process.
The good news is letter automaticity can be taught quickly and easily! Use the materials in this pack to create a writing automaticity center and build future writing fluency.
Included in this pack:
There are two sets of uppercase and lowercase letters included in this pack (one set is solid letters, one set is dotted letters for tracing)
The letter automaticity book can be differentiated per student. Assemble a book with only tracing letters for your students that cannot yet form letters. Assemble a book with blank pages for a students who can write all the letters and just needs extra practice. Mix the pages depending on your students needs, by the end of the year (or the end of the RTI cycle) you will have visual proof of your student’s letter automaticity growth.
Also included are three letter automaticity assessments sheets. Copy the pages back to back with one for each student, make a check if the student can form the orally presented letter with hesitation , and an x if the student hesitates or incorrectly forms the letter, time each student to see if their automaticity has improved over time.
A letter automaticity game is also included.
