These cards are intended to be used with the Word Family Reader (WFR) Program but can also be used for a variety of other purposes. Please see our FREE BOOK package
for more information about how this program works!!
These letter cards are used to spell words in the WFR lesson plan.
All of the consonant letter cards are in black. The vowel letter cards are in red and in black. The red vowel cards are used to emphasize the vowel sound in family words, i.e., at, bat, cat, hat. They are also used in sight words when the vowel says a sound that has already been learned, i.e., and, as, has. The black vowel cards are used in sight words in which the vowel does not say a learned sound, i.e., the, a, I.
Instead of these letter cards, other types of letters may be used such as: letter tiles, magnetic letters, cut out letters....etc.
