I designed this packet to be completely “programmable”/differentiated and entirely up to you to decide which activities you want to chose for each letter. Each letter has the same 16 activities. Activities include letter recognition, sorting, letter writing and sound recognition.
Here are the activities included:
-Sort it! (Upper and lowercase sorting the focus letter in different fonts)
-Sort the beginning sounds- sort pictures with focus letter sound/not focus letter sound
-The Aa Garden- children paste the pictures with the focus letter’s beginning sound onto the flowers in the garden.
-Roll and Trace it- upper and lowercase tracing (using a die for added fun!)
-Spin and Trace- use a paperclip for your spinner! The children spin and trace the upper and lowercase letters; when they finish with one color, they can chose another and start over again!
-Decorate it! Use anything from stickers to tissue paper to glitter, etc! Kids love to be creative.
-Trace and color the letter puzzles uppercase
- Trace and color the letter puzzles lowercase
-Stamp it! Letter stamping
-Basketball game- color by upper and lowercase letter
-Apple tree- color by upper and lowercase letter
-Trace it! Find it!- Focus letter tracing and letter recognition activity
-Bubble, bubble! Matching picture to letter. Children make little “flaps” with the bubble that can be lifted, like a “peek-aboo” book
-I can find it in the newspaper!- You provide the newspaper or the magazine for your students to cut and paste it in their booklet.
-Matching upper to lowercase letters puzzle.
-Popcorn letters- The children “butter” the popcorn by coloring those popcorn with the focus upper and lowercase letters by coloring the focus letter yellow.
-Get the Picture! Children paste the pictures with the focus letter’s sound in the picture frames.
With such a wide variety of activities, you will be able to easily differentiate for each of your little learners! You can also use these booklets as homework, morning work, center activities. They are perfect for RTI for letters! And they are fun! Win-win!
