Here is a set of letter i worksheets and activities. This downloadable workbook includes 9 letter i activities to help your children:
- Learn things that begin with letter i (e.g. ink, igloo, iguana, etc.)
- Recognise upper and lowercase letter i
- Practice tracing and writing letter i
- Identify letter i sound
The activities included in this workbook are:
- Letter I Poster
This letter i poster is great for introducing the letter Ii. I only include items that begin with letter i sound and there are not that many of them. You can use this poster as a guide for various hands on activities such as creating alphabet box filled with items mentioned above, learning more about insects, painting with ink, doing experiments to create invisible ink, creating letter I crafts, read letter i books like Bugs are Insects by Anna Rockwell, I Wanna Iguana by Karen Kaufman Orloff and David Catrow, Curious George Builds an Igloo by H. A. Rey, etc. with your children and more!
- Spot and Dot the Letter Activity
This activity helps your children recognise upper and lowercase letter i. They have to find both the upper and lower case letter and dot or color them.
I love using dot markers and the kids enjoy using it more than just plain coloring.
- Letter I Maze
Trace through the maze to find the way out! Another fun activity for letter recognition as well as cognitive skills. If you want to reuse the activity sheet, you can laminate it and use washable marker to trace along the maze.
- Letter I Sound Worksheets
There are two variations of letter I beginning sound worksheets for you to choose from. They are straight forwards activities where your children have to identify items that begin with letter i.
- Letter I Tracing Worksheets
There are four different letter i tracing worksheets to choose from with the options of tracing with lines or free form tracing with box. These worksheets are not filled with tons and tons of tracing to do because I find that children get so bored and tired when there are too much to trace. However, if your child is older and you would prefer a more intense tracing activities, check out my alphabet tracing workbook.
