My “Letter of the Week” series is the perfect way to teach your preschoolers/kindergarten students the alphabet. Each packet provides practice with letter recognition, phonics, writing practice, and identifying things that begin with the letter of the week. The packet culminates with a fun craft activity/game that can be placed in a notebook or on a bulletin board upon student mastery of the letter.



1. Word Wall/Flip Cards – These colorful cards can be used on a word wall, laminated, and/or placed on a book ring to review things that begin with the letter of the week.
2. Letter Coloring Page – Students can color the upper and lowercase letter as well as objects that begin with the letter of the week.
3. Animal ABC’s – Students can color an animal whose name begins with the letter of the week.
4. Upper/Lowercase Writing Practice (2) – Students practice tracing the upper and lowercase letter of the week.
5. Color and Write – Students will color objects that begin with the letter of the week and fill in the blank to complete the name of the object.
6. Letter Hunt – Students will circle items that begin with the letter of the week.
7. Popcorn Letters- Students will match the uppercase letter of the week with the lowercase letter.
8. Letter Maze- Students will distinguish the letter of the week from other letters to get through the maze.
9. Letter Sort-Students will distinguish between the uppercase and lowercase letter of the week.
10. Beginning Sound Sort- Students will distinguish between objects that begin with the letter of the week and objects that begin with a different letter.
11. Can you draw it? - Students can find/think of additional objects that begin with the letter of the week and draw them.
12. Color by Code – Students will color a hidden picture to discover the object that begins with the letter of the week, by distinguishing the uppercase from lowercase letter of the week.
13. Now I know Activity- Students will complete a fun activity that culminates their study of the letter of the week. This activity can be placed in a notebook, bulletin board, etc.
