Working with Letter/ Sound Recognition
1.Color the letter or trace it with playdough.
2.Trace the upper and lowercase letters.

Working with Syllables
1.Syllable writing practice.
2.Identifying beginning syllables in words.
3. Counting syllables in words.
4. Sorting words by initial syllable.
(The syllable cards can be used with clothes pins or dry erase markers.)
Making Words with Syllables
1.First, practice writing words with the tracing pages.
2.Clap the syllables. Write the syllables in the boxes (use with dry erase markers).
3.Syllable-Word Puzzles. Students will shuffle the cards and then place the syllables in correct order to make the word. (Work with one word at a time.)
Three levels of student books:
1.Reading two-word labels.
2.Reading longer sentences with common words.
3.Write your own sentences about the pictures in the book.
