This product is designed for students who are just beginning to learn their letters, students working on visual discrimination, or for students who are struggling with learning their letters. There are 2 pages for each letter. The first page contains upper and lowercase letters, 3 sets of color pictures that start with that letter, and 3 sets of black and white pictures that start with that letter (with the exception of x which has 1 picture that starts with x and 2 pictures that end with x). The second page contains the color picture and the word to match the picture. To use, print 2 copies of each page. Laminate both copies. Leave one copy uncut and cut out all the squares on the other copy. Students will match the cut out pieces onto the uncut board. As students are matching, prompt them to say the letter name or the name of the picture. When spelling the words, you might choose to only have the student say the name of the letter you are working on instead of all the letter names.
Other options for this product include:
-Using velcro on the pieces
-Making them into file folder games (1 for each letter)
-Cut the picture cards out and the words out (cut the words out in one piece instead of all the squares separately). Have students match the pictures to the words
-Have students spell the words that match the pictures without the example to copy
-Put all the pages into a binder for early finishers
