This resource is a wonderful way for your students to practice or review the hard-c sound of the alphabet while releasing a little kinesthetic energy at the same time. The full version includes a write-the-room “walk” for the initial sound of each letter of the alphabet. (Xx focuses on the final sound.) That’s 26 card sets!

Select the cards you wish to have your students practice. Laminate, cut out and post at various locations around the room. Alternatively, these cards may be placed into a container for use at a learning center.

Recording Page: Your students will search for each card, and then decide if the two pictures shown begin with the same sound. If their response is “yes,” then they will color in the monster with the smile on their recording sheet. If the response is “no,” then they will color in the monster with the frown.

Have fun with this activity.
