Letter Punch! packet
Letter punch is an activity that I use with my kindergarten students. Students use hole punches to show whether words begin or end with a given letter sound. This is great phonemic awareness practice and would be a great addition to an ELA workshop or literacy stations.
There are 12 pictures for each given letter. Pictures either begin or end with that letter sound. Students use a hole punch to punch a hole in the first box if the word begins with the sound; they punch the second box if the word ends with the sound. A few tricky pictures begin and and with the sound!
Included are the letters B, D, F, G, K, L, M, N, P, R, S, and T.
My students love this activity! They enjoy being able to use hole punches and I love that they are strengthening hand muscles while practicing phonics.
