Description

Intentional, systematic and effective! Our littles need opportunities to compare and sort sounds. I have found this to be the most solidifying experience for students to really master their sounds. This resource was designed to engage little learners who tend to rush through, to help them slow down a bit, listen for sounds and work intentionally on practicing and mastering fluency with phonemes. Robert Marzano’s 2007 research confirmed that asking students to identify similarities and differences through comparative analysis leads to eye-opening gains in student achievement.

These BIG REVIEW activities seal the deal with high yield results! I have been using this resource for years, and I’m so excited that I finally made it “pretty enough” to put in my store!! I have used it in soooo many ways. Review, obviously, but also fantastic for small groups, interventions, assessments and RTI!!

Included in this resource:

Comparison Sound Sorts ( 2 letters in teaching succession paired for comparison & sorting 5)

Initial Sound Review Week Sorts (chunked in groups of 5 for comparing, sorting and categorizing)

Sound Review Sorts for medial vowels, final consonants, and long vowel sounds
