My reading series just didn’t cut it when it came to teaching letter sounds. This smartboard activity teaches initial sounds for all letters in a fun way. You might notice there are no letters on each page in order for students to fully learn phonemic awareness. Some students already know the letter but we want them to be able to decode and know the sounds. My school loves their graphic organizer so each letter includes one circle map and one T-chart.
This is also great for teaching students how to use the Smartboard and for ELL learners to learn vocabulary.
This activity is made in Notebook for the Smartboard not promethean boards.
The next step after introducing each letter sound is to show them what each letter looks like and how to write it. I’m working on that smartboard activity now.
