Alphabet Word Work Consonants Mega Bundle!

This is a collection of 9+ stations/centers that encourage students to independently practice the letter sound /w/ as well as other phonics skills. A bonus formative assessment, handwriting practice, morning work, and vocabulary cards are included.

Station 1: My w Book: Students draw a picture on each page of a word that uses the /w/ sound. Then label the picture in the space below.
Challenge: Students will write sentences about the pictures they draw.

Station 2: Build a Word: Students will use letter tiles to build words with the /w/ sound.
Challenge: Label, Cut, and Glue: Students color the pictures that have the /w/ sound in the word. Then they cut them out, glue them to the mat, and label each word.

Station 3: W Crossword: Students will look at the picture or read the clue, then find the word in the word bank. Students will then write the word in the crossword.

Station 4: W BINGO: Students will look at each picture and label. If the word has a /w/, then they will color it. Can they find 3 in a row?

Station 5: Puzzle Matching: Match the pictures to the words. Then sort the puzzles depending if they begin with w or wh.

Station 6: Stamp and Write: Students will pound the word with their fist, then tap each individual sound. After that, students will stamp the beginning sound and write the words in the boxes. Then students will write a sentence about one of the pictures.
Challenge: Same activity with more challenging words.

Station 7 Picture Sort: Have students sort the pictures onto the correct side (/w/ or /y/). Have them label the pictures.

Station 8: Back to Back Game: Students sit back to back with a partner. They draw a card from the bag. They give clues to their partner to help them guess the /w/ word on the card.

Station 9: Make it, Paint it, Tear it! Students can use art materials, paint, or torn paper to make a /w/ picture. Then write a sentence to tell about their creation.
Challenge: Write a STORY about your picture.

CHALLENGE: Stations 1, 2, 6, and 7 have additional pages that use the similar activity but with HIGHER skill levels needed to complete them.

FREEBIE: Morning Work and Letter Writing Practice -Not on choice board.

FREEBIE: Vocabulary Cards

FREEBIE: Dictation: Formative assessment and instructions found at end of the pack.
