Letter webs for alphabet practice! Use these letter sound practice mats to help your students apply the letter sounds in their writing. This is a simple tool for practice as a whole group, in small groups, or in a “Work on Writing” center in your room.
You can even bind these into a book for students to use all year.
Students will trace the dotted letter in the middle, then draw and color pictures that begin with that letter sound in the boxes around the letter. In the space at the bottom of each box, students can practice writing the letter, or even stretching sounds to write the word that matches their picture.
There are two options in this packet:
6 boxes per page, or 4 boxes per page.
There is also a page with a blank circle for each option so you could have students put something in the center like “cat” to make pictures of rhyming words, or even categories like “friends” or “animals” when used as a writing center or activity.
At the very end of the packet are two options of handwriting lines and a picture space so early finishers could choose a word to use in a sentence and illustrate it. These pages could be kept separately, or copied onto the backs of the letter web pages if bound into a practice book.
