Help your students practice letter formation, letter recognition, letter sounds, and beginning sight words. Giraffe and turtle graphics help kids connect to capital and lowercase letters. Several skills, all in one front and back worksheet. Each section offers a brief practice that can be taught as a routine and given in the same format each time you introduce a new letter.
The first page can be used to create your own practice sheet if the sheets provided do not match your letter formation.
Each letter has two pages that are meant to be run back to back as a part of routine practice.
The first section has a capital letter next to a giraffe (tall letters) and a lowercase letter next to a turtle (small letters). The letters show suggested letter formation.
Next, there's a section to write two words that start with the letter (in a group at first, then independently) and draw a picture that starts with the letter (could be done as independent practice).
Finally, there's a section to practice writing capital and lowercase letters.
The back side of the paper offers a section to practice finding capital and lowercase letters in different fonts.
Next, there's a sentence that focuses on the letter's sound. The students should trace and read the sentence, and draw a picture that illustrates it.
