As you know, letter fluency is one of the two best indicators for reading success down the line. This fun May
activity with a Mother's Day
Theme will help with increasing your students letter fluency and letter-sound fluency, especially for those students that are still struggling with mastering letters and sounds. .
Many of us use DIBELS
to measure letter and letter-sound fluency. So a little practice can go a long way to be beneficial, not to mention fun. Included with this product, you will find a May game board and spinner that can be copied for as many students in your classroom as you wish. Either add a spinner or teach your students to use a paperclip/pencil spinner. Students spin the spinner, and find the corresponding picture on the game board. And away they go, reciting the letter names or the letter sounds. Then spin again. Also included you will find color and black and white versions. These are just perfect for sending home a copy for extra practice.
Year long practice is a super activity for literacy centers and small guided reading groups. And if your students are similar to mine, you will have students who need this practice all year long. This product is included as part of my year long, cost savings bundle. Purchasing this would be a duplicate purchase if you already have the bundle.
But if this is something you think you would like to use all year, and are interested in the bundle, click here to take a peek at it.
