Here are 4 worksheets that can be used in a variety of ways!
Introduce the letter 'b' through a book, create an anchor chart with things that begin with the letter b, or use playdough to practice making it! Then grab the "Letter b" worksheet and have students reinforce their learning through a color by letter and drawing.
Move on with some handwriting practice! Pass out trays of sand or salt and have students practice drawing the letter using direction words (We say, "Down, up, over and around!) or come up with your own fun way to practice the letter b. Then grab the "Letter b" handwriting worksheet. Have students stand up behind their chair, do 5 jumping jacks, and then trace 5 letter b's. Have them run in place while counting to 5 and then have them trace the next 5 b's and so on!
Create a poetry journal or use "Little Brown Boat" in a literacy station. Practice reciting the poem aloud as a class, have them read it to themselves, and then to a neighbor. Have students find all of the b's in the poem and illustrate it too! Don't forget to illustrate your own. Lots of kiddos love to draw and love to see their teacher draw as well!
When it is time to move on from practicing the letter a, use the quick handwriting strips as morning work, homework, or a quick warm-up before writing. They can be used in a variety of ways and give students that quick repetitive practice they need.
