When I am teaching letters, I like to do a spiral review. I prefer to take a quick two minutes daily to keep it fresh in my littles minds. You can do all the cards in one day over one letter, or do two a week, or just one a week. It is up to you and your curriculum.
Monday: On the first day of the week I will introduce the letter of the week. We will talk about the letter and the sound. We will then identify the three beginning sounds that either the students or myself had chosen.
Tuesday: The next day we will go back over what the letter of the week and the sounds. We will add those to the bulletin board. Then we will talk about alphabet order, and decide what letter is before and after.
Wednesday: The next day we will go over the letter, beginning sounds, before/after. Then we will decide if the letter is a vowel or a consonant. Then we will learn the sign for the letter.
Thursday: On Thursday, we will review what we have worked on all week. We will go over letter, beginning sounds, before/after, vowel/consonant and sign. Then we will take the six letters of different fonts. We will lay them out on the floor, and sort between upper and lower case.
Friday: On the last day, I would go over the whole bulletin board, and review all that we had talked about.
