Product Description
Are you looking for an End of the Year activity that contains a real world writing activity and will be meaningful to your students? Look no further than the Letter To A Future Student Writing Composition. It is a great way to have students reflect on what they have learned at the end of a school year and give advice for new students at the beginning of a new year.

Teachers will LOVE that this resource will ENGAGE their students in real world writing activities. Another plus to this activity is that teachers can use the finished letters at the beginning of the school year to welcome their new students with real world and relevant advice. Not to mention that this activity requires NO PREP for teachers at a time when things can become very chaotic.

Students will LOVE that they get to create a real world product for their peers. In addition, they will also be given an opportunity to share their thoughts and advice from their own experiences in your class.

This resource includes the following resources:

Writing Cover Sheet: This sheet contains the learning target, writing topic, writing process guide, area for brainstorming, and rubric.

Four Square Organizer: Students can use this worksheet to organize their advice and real life examples.

Teacher Model- Four Square Organizer: This model shows students what a high quality organizer looks like. Students can use this as a reference as they are organizing their letter.

Teacher Models-Letter to a Future Student: There are three writing samples (STRONG, MEDIUM, and WEAK) that will help students identify the criteria needed for a strong letter as well as self-reflect their own writing sample.

Criteria Poster: A poster that displays the criteria for this writing activity is included.
