Numbers and Letters Lesson Plans and Worksheets are a great resource especially for homeschooled families who need easy to follow plan that will teach their preschool and kindergarten aged children all letters and numbers 0-50 in a fun and easy way. This resource is a great addition to school lesson plans for preschool (PreK) and kindergarten teachers as well. There is no preparation needed, and you can use these all year round!
Each lesson starts with "Daily Checklist", "Skill to master" for the week, "Theme talk" prompt and "Book suggestions". This is an easy overview of skills to work on, and a theme suggestion to talk about throughout the week.
“Daily checklist” is the same every day. It reminds you about practicing things like calendar, days of the week, months of the year, colors, shapes, weather, and seasons. These are all important to know before your child enters kindergarten.
“Skill to master” box changes with each lesson. Every lesson you will have a new skill suggestion you should practice with your child. It covers a wide variety of skills such as following rules, tying shoes, brushing teeth, getting dressed independently or jumping with both feet together and climb a small ladder such as the one that leads to a slide at the playground.
“Theme talk” and “Books suggestion” lets you know the theme for the week. Each week, you will be suggested a new theme to talk about and to learn about. You are welcome to visit your local library and check out books we suggested for the theme or add some of your own picks. The whole point of the theme suggestions is to keep you and your child learning about wide variety of topics and areas. Read books, watch educational movies and read articles in magazines that talk about the weekly topic. Kids love to learn about new things!
Every lesson then moves on to a new letter and number, gives children an opportunity to trace the number/letter, write it, and practice it through fun worksheets.
Each lesson ends with a journal. It is a one page paper that always asks a question related to the theme, and your child will practice answering the question, writing down (or tracing) the answer, and drawing a picture.
