Children will practice letter sounds and beginning sounds (phonological awareness) with this set of 55 cards - one card for every letter of the alphabet. The first set includes a set of pictures where the kids will identify the name of each picture and then choose the one that doesn't belong. Children will look at the cards and find the one that doesn't belong in the group. This activity will work well with special ed and ELL kids. Use a projector or iPads for guided practice.
On each card, there is one letter with 2 pictures that have the same letter sound. One picture on the card is the "wrong" letter sound. Children will mark the picture that does not belong. The second set of activity slides will have the kids identifying the beginning sound letter of each of the images shown and then dragging the ones that match the letter in the box. There are two images which belong to the letter shown and one that doesn't belong.
If you haven't experienced task cards in this format, I highly recommend that you check out this activity! It's super engaging and very unique! The best part about it is that you can use and re-use the slides as many times as you need to and on so many supported devices.
