Personal Note
My daughter had difficulty with this process at school.
So, I decided she should practice at home.
What I did with her:
Step 1: I displayed a picture of cubes.
Step 2: She built it with actual cubes! (Many can be found /purchased on Amazon!)
Step 3: Then using the colored cut-outs she made a layout (plan) diagram.
The above steps were completed with a few pictures from Set 2.
Then with other pictures from Set 2, and without actual cubes,
completed the following:
Step 4: I again displayed a picture of cubes.
Step 5: Then using the colored cut-outs she made a layout (plan) diagram.
Step 6: Then she placed the appropriate number cut-outs (indicating levels)
on-top of each colored cut-outs.
As indicated, the above steps were completed with a few pictures from Set 2.
Then with other pictures from Set 2, still without actual cubes,
completed the following:
Step 7: I again displayed a picture of cubes.
Step 8: Then using only number cut-outs (indicating levels) she made a layout (plan) diagram.
This whole process was pretty much the same with Set 1, but was much quicker. She did not really require too much time with Set 1.
That was only to help her understand what she needs to look at/for.
I reminded her to look very closely at each picture of cubes.
She should look for the edges/lines of the cubes and any empty spaces.
We are currently working on Level 2, which has the maximum height of 4 cubes, and also as the option to construct elevation diagrams!
I anticipate very soon she will only require steps 7 and 8.
I will upload this to Tpt also.

Thank you!
