This activity reviews many common first year topics. Students are lead through an activation of prior knowledge in which they answer a list of conversational questions from units they have studied. Then they are paired with a partner to converse using a new identity that they have created.
In my classroom, I use this activity with students sitting in two circles on facing out and one facing in. One of the circles is directed to move throughout the activity. I have students converse for one minute and 15 seconds on the first round and gradual increase the time of each round. Giving pointers in 2-3 minute mini-lessons between each round.
