This resource covers 5.NBT.1. Recognize that in a multi-digit number, a digit in one place represents 10 times as much as it represents in the place to its right and 1/10 of what it represents in the place to its left.
Students will have 3 problems, that they will work on with several peers (one peer per problem). After each problem is completed, and peers check over their partners' work, students will then be given a BOOT CAMP activity to complete together (i.e. push ups, sit ups, jumping jacks, secret hand-shakes, and more.)
This is a quick 15 minute activity, that allows your students to get up, interact with one other, discuss processes and math concepts, as well as allows for students to move around. Great for starting out the class, or a break in between tasks.
This resource is leveled. There is an on grade level page, above grade level, and an intervention page. Students will make sure to pair up with other peers that have the same letter on their paper (A, B, or C).
Thank you so much for taking the time to look at and purchase this resource. I am in the process of making this same resource for every math standard.
