This is 8 levels of carefully-designed laws of exponents practice. It's a great review/practice activity. It begins with basic expressions that require the use of just one property and builds in complexity. The final level combines fractions and negative numbers.
I printed the levels on a variety of colored paper and spread them out on a desk. All students started with level A and moved through the levels at their own pace. Levels A and B are similar for students who need extra practice. I let students who breezed through Level A can skip straight to Level C. As students completed each level they would come to me to get their work checked before heading over to pick up the next level. Students really enjoyed completing the levels and it was easy to send struggling students to more proficient students for quick tutoring sessions.
