How Do We Get There? is a leveled book for beginning readers who are learning how pictures and words work together. This book for early emergent readers focuses on transportation and uses patterned, picture-supported text. However, the pattern changes on the last page, so students have to pay attention to the words. How Do We Get There? is also appropriate for use with ESL students in primary grades. The book can be taken home for familiar rereading after working on it at school. Teacher notes, including early reading strategies, are included with the reproducible book.
This book was used successfully with kindergarten and first grade students in rural and suburban school settings.
