As is true for many teachers, I became tired of using multiple choice worksheets to understand where my students were at in their science understanding. This gives you an easy three leveled system that gets harder the further you go. You can use it as homework, differentiated classwork, or a simple assessment. I am using it in conjunction with a flipped science classroom. Triple Jump Worksheets are designed to give students an easy set of vocabulary questions, a harder set of interpretive challenges and then a critical thinking puzzle related to the topic.
In this set:
-Hop: Identify the difference between cells, tissues, organs, organ systems, and organisms
-Skip: Write about the difference between atoms, molecules, and cells
-Jump: Take complex definitions of specific organs and figure out which organ system they belong to through context clues
-Hop: Identify organelle name to definition to diagram
-Skip: Give an analogy to these common entities
-Jump: What complexly described organelles are shown?
-Hop: What's the difference between these two cells? How could you make them more accurate
-Skip: Identify characteristics of plant cells vs animal cells
-Jump: Take microscope slides and hypothesize whether or not they are plant or animal cells
