Leveled Sight Word Centers: Guided Reading Levels A-E
This resource contains 6 leveled activities to help build sight word recognition for words in books levels A-E. The leveled word lists come from Jan Richardson’s, The Next Step In Guided Reading (2009). All activities in this document were created by Teaching Little Leaders.
There are a total of 61 Sight Words with 6 resources EACH!
That's turned into 246 Pages worth of LEVELED RESOURCES :)
These activities are intended to help you focus your literacy centers in order to match each child’s working level.
Not only will this build upon your students’ known sight words, but it will help GROW their READING LEVEL too! Books in the A-E Reading Levels are primarily sight word based. In order to move from one level to another, not only do students need reading strategies, but they MUST have sight word FLUENCY AND RECOGNITION.
Included in this resource:
All activities are leveled. The first five activities are color-coded.
Sight Word Cards
Playdough Mats (May also be used as tracing mats)
Read, Build, Write Mats
Find It Pages
Parking Lot Mats
Cut and Paste Activity Pages
Also included: Assessment pages for each word list!
Not sure how to use these? No problem! The Preview Pages provide an explanation for how to use each activity.
*Side Note: I have also used the Sight Word Cards to help with assessment. Words are fastened to a binder ring, students read the card and flip until they get to the end. Easy, Peasy!
