A great resource to post in your classroom and use with students before/after a lesson!
Includes 4 posters with ratings (1-4) and I can statements so students can easily identify their level of understanding.
Ways to Use:
- Prior to a lesson, have students show you with their fingers or write down privately on a whiteboard/paper their rating of their level of understanding of a new topic. This will give you an idea of the extent of teaching that needs to be done
- In Math Notebooks, after a page of notes, have students jot down on their page their rating. This allows you to divide students into groups for differentiated instruction.
- Have students rate themselves on topics prior to a test to self-monitor what they need to practice/study during a review session
