A great PPT presentation with a 5-question exit ticket on the levels of organization within an ecosystem. Straightforward and will allow for students to differentiate between an organism, population, community, and ecosystem.
Prior to students learning the information, I provide a case study on Yellowstone National Park. An embedded video clip shows students the reintroduction of wolves into the park and how it dramatically altered its ecosystem. I have students in pairs list out as many examples of changes that the introduction of a single species had to the ecosystem. This is a great way to begin a discussion on the interactions within ecosystems!
