This activity is designed to get students thinking outside the box. They will put themselves on the “trail” with Lewis and Clark by becoming one of the members of the Corps of Discovery. By learning about their person, they will create an introduction to the class of their person and then using inference and hypothesis explain how the trip may have gone differently if their member had not been there. This is not an in depth study of each person, only a taste to front load for more Lewis and Clark activities. The hook is a fun drawing activity which gets the students engaged and wanting more.
