Lewis and Clark Map Assignment & Sequence of Events Task Cards
This two-part lesson focuses on the expedition of Lewis and Clark. Students will trace Lewis and Clark’s journey west as they create their very own expedition map. After completing the map assignment, students will use the task cards to put the events of the expedition in chronological order.
Everything is ready to print and includes:
Comprehensive Map Directions:
The map assignment requires students to label and color-code major river systems, mountains, landmarks, and other aspects relating to Lewis and Clark’s expedition.
Black Outline Map:
In order to complete their map according to the directions, students will need access to the included reference map showing Lewis and Clark’s journey, major landforms, and the Louisiana Purchase. Projecting a completed map is another option.
A full-color reference map is included for students to use as they complete their Lewis and Clark journey maps. Projecting the map for all students to view at the same time works well.
12 expedition task cards are included for students to arrange in chronological order. Each task card includes the year, a short description of the event, and a picture.
