"Lewis and Clark and Me, A Dog’s Tale" is a short story about the adventures of Lewis’s dog, Seaman, as he travels with Lewis and Clark. Their journey would take them from Pennsylvania to the Pacific Ocean.
Each section tells a new tale of what happened along the way, and it gives students a different perspective on this long journey. Students read a section and then answer comprehension questions on that passage. There are key vocabulary words to watch out for, along with several vocabulary activities that you can choose to use for each section.
At the end of this packet you will find the answer keys for the comprehension questions along with the vocabulary words, page # to find them on, and a brief definition. There are no daily lesson plans; this is meant for small group reading or independent reading. Students can easily guide through this short story with questions and activities that are explained throughout.
