This Lexington and Concord Primary Source Analysis activity is a PERFECT lesson to begin of the school year with. This lesson is great for reviewing history skills with students and teaching students how to analyze a primary source!! I found two great primary sources to include in this lesson. One primary source document that I included were the written meeting notes from the April 17, 1775 meeting of the Commitee of Safety and Supplies. This is a great primary source document that shows the preparations and movement of arms to the town immediately surrounding Boston. The second primary source document is the April 18, 1775 orders from General Thomas Gage to Lt. Colonel Smith, Smith the next morning who would lead his troops to Lexington and Concord in search of military supplies.
These pages are also editable in google docs to allow for teacher changes.
