Teachers need to be able to project Youtube videos that are so instrumental in helping students to learn without concern that some advertisement will pop up that will be inappropriate for their students. Liberty's Kids has 40 awesome episodes that I show every year to my fourth graders. The ads are a nuisance at the very least and it is worrisome that some an ad or sidebar will appear that will be inappropriate; thus, I have created QR code card links that will enable access with no ads.
I have now set this up as an activity for my students who say, "What do I do now? I am finished." Students may take a printout of this activity, go to a computer or obtain an iPad, scan the QR code of the designated Liberty's Kid episode. I provide cards that students draw randomly from a basket. (Write Questions, Answer Questions) They are either directed to write 10 "good" questions (we discuss the concept of good questions) for the next student to answer who will be watching the video or to answer the questions written by another student. I keep an envelope for each episode in a bin for the questions written students.
