: Whether you are a librarian or a regular classroom teacher, this word search activity is a great way to introduce key vocabulary related to the library. If your students are like mine, they love word search activities.
In this library themed puzzle, words are found forward, backward, up, down, and diagonally. I would consider it on the challenging side since students are looking for words in all directions. Keep that in mind if choosing to use it with third graders.
I use word searches to introduce vocabulary, or even just give it as morning work. They are also great to glue in writing notebooks for future writing topics. Perfect for a sub, too. You could use the word list to have students write a short informational paper using the words. It would be a great follow-up activity to your first library visit of the year. You could use it as homework or it makes a great early finisher activity. Use this library themed word search however you would like in your classroom.
